Quectel achieves initial millimeter wave (mmWave) NSA data call over a RM510Q-GL powered laptop in lab

Quectel Wireless Solutions achieved its initial millimeter wave (mmWave) NSA data call over a RM510Q-GL powered laptop in lab. As a key module vendor having completed 5G tests on customer devices, Quectel has proved that it delivers high-quality 5G connections to OEMs globally.

Featuring Qualcomm SDX55 modem, the RM510Q-GL 5G M.2 module supports sub-6GHz and mmWave bands in both 5G SA/NSA operation modes. It covers close to all major carriers worldwide and is backward compatible with LTE-A and 3G networks.

The module integrates multi-constellation GNSS receiver, eSIM and high-speed interfaces such as USB 3.1 and PCIe 3.0, and is ideal for globally deployed mobile devices including Always Connected PCs (ACPC), industrial PDAs and mobile gateways.

Quectel Wireless has a broad product portfolio covering recent wireless technologies of 5G, LTE/LTE-A, NB-IoT/LTE-M, UMTS/HSPA(+), GSM/GPRS and GNSS. As a professional IoT technology developer and cellular module supplier, Quectel is able to provide one-stop services for IoT cellular modules.

Quectel products have been applied in IoT/M2M fields, including smart payment, telematics and transport, smart energy, smart cities, security, wireless gateways, industry, healthcare, agriculture, and environment monitoring.

Besides mmWave, Quectel also completed a series of successful live 5G tests over a laptop on Sub-6GHz bands. At a two-day expo in Hefei, Quectel teamed up with LCFC (Hefei) Electronics Technology, the developer of a world-famous laptop manufacturer, and had multiple tests of a laptop on China Mobile Communications Group’s live 5G NR network. Random tests showed that the laptop delivered a downlink data rate of 649Mbps via Quectel RM500Q module.

“As one of the industry’s first 5G module vendors, Quectel is leading 5G commercialization with continuous breakthroughs in 5G,” said Leo Yao, Quectel’s senior product manager. “ACPC is among the first wave of 5G IoT applications and will greatly improve office efficiency. In the future, we will closely collaborate with ecosystem partners to accelerate commercial applications of 5G laptops and cloud office.”
