Samsung adds IoT connectivity, efficiency with new line of smart, premium cooking appliances

Samsung Electronics America announced this week that it is entering the built-in home appliance market with built-in cooking products available beginning next month. The entire line-up is available in traditional stainless steel and Samsung’s black stainless steel finish.

Samsung’s new built-in cooking line features appliances which bring an improved level of design, connectivity and performance to the built-in category. The line-up features meaningful innovations that combine the designs consumers have come to expect from Samsung, a new level of connectivity that brings true simplicity into the kitchen and exceptional performance.

One of the key drivers in kitchen layout and remodeling is design. Samsung’s built-in appliances deliver the highest level of design that our customers have come to expect. With clean lines, meaningful features such as illuminated knobs, and a choice of finishes for the modern kitchen, the new built-in line is the perfect fit for any kitchen.

All appliances are equipped with Wi-Fi connectivity, so you can remotely start, control and turn off your oven as well as monitor your cooktop and range hood from your smartphone. Bluetooth connectivity syncs the cooktop with Samsung’s range hood to automatically start the hood’s fans or lights when using the cooktop. The new line is even capable of working with the Samsung SmartThings Hub as part of the connected home.

The new Samsung Built-in Double and Single Wall Ovens feature Steam Cook technology, so you can easily bake and roast with professional results for ultimate performance. Samsung is introducing the industry’s first Triple Oven in a Double Oven cut-out with exclusive Flex Duo technology found in select built-in ovens, enabling you to cook two different dishes at different temperatures simultaneously within the same oven compartment.

In addition to the interior halogen lighting, the wall ovens have signature LED lights in the door, which effectively illuminate the oven’s 5.1 cu. ft. capacity – capacity that can comfortably accommodate a roast, multiple casserole dishes or several racks of cookies.

Each oven is Wi-Fi enabled and includes a temperature probe allowing you to monitor, adjust time and temperature, preheat and turn off your oven from your smartphone. Settings like Rapid Preheat, Gourmet Cook, Delay Bake and Convection Conversion make for easier, more convenient cooking, while heavy-duty easy-glide racks, a hidden heating element and Hybrid Self Clean mode make clean-up a snap. Samsung wall ovens will be available at retailers and online ranging from $2,199 to $3,999.

Samsung’s new line of built-in cooktops includes gas, induction and electric options available in both 30-inch and 36-inch sizes, so you can find a cooktop to match your cooking preference and kitchen design. And Samsung’s new built-in range hood, also in both sizes, seamlessly syncs up with select cooktops to complete the set.

The Built-in Gas Cooktop brings professional-level cooktop configurations to the home, packaged with Samsung’s design elements and convenient connectivity. Top features include a professional-level 22K BTU dual power burner for high performance, a first for a built-in gas cooktop in the U.S.; ergonomically-designed, easy-to-grip premium knobs; and a removable cast iron griddle and wok grate. Samsung gas cooktops will range from $1,199 to $1,699.

The Built-in Induction Cooktop combines innovation with the power, precision and connectivity cooks desire. Top features include a FlexZone feature which automatically adjusts heat to adapt to different pot shapes and sizes; digital touch controls with a new adjustable, magnetic knob; and Samsung’s Virtual Flame™ technology which replicates the visual of a gas flame. Samsung induction cooktops will range from $2,099 to $2,499.

The Built-in Electric Cooktop transforms the cooking process with a thoughtful combination of highly flexible cooking configurations, sleek design and powerful performance.

Top features include a 3.3 kW Rapid Boil element that offers intense heat and precise control; the Sync Burner feature, which lets you control two burners simultaneously; and 15 different heat settings for complete control and various dual/triple/warming zone options. Samsung electric cooktops will range from $1,099 to $1,499.

Samsung’s Built-in Range Hood introduces connectivity features, intuitive functionality, maximum cooking control and beautiful design. Top features include a new dishwasher-safe metal baffle filter that helps keep the air clean by drawing grease and odor through the hood for better ventilation.

The sleek and modern wall mount chimney-style hood also offers 600 CFM, LED lighting and Bluetooth technology allowing it to sync directly with select Samsung cooktops. Samsung range hoods will range from $1,099 to $1,299.

“We are excited to enter the built-in cooking category with the same level of innovation and design that we have in our freestanding appliances,” said John Herrington, Senior Vice President, General Manager of Home Appliance at Samsung. “2016 has seen over 1.2 million new housing starts and significant growth in home remodeling. This line-up of Samsung built-in products addresses the growing needs of these premium consumers.”
