Rally for Safety debuts IoT safety device and app to decrease safety risks in real-time through improved connectivity

Rally for Safety announced Tuesday debut of its initial wearable emergency alert button and mobile app. The digital platform aims at delivering safety and the ability to alert a user’s designated contacts, the powerful Rally community, and the authorities.

The Rally for Safety app is available for download on the Apple and Android app store, and Rally’s wearable Bluetooth button that pairs with the mobile app is available for purchase through the Rally for Safety website and Amazon.

The Rally for Safety app features the on-demand Rally Community, GPS alerts to selected friends and family, signature Rally check-in alerts, and a premium service that includes 24/7 911 monitoring.

Rally For Safety is an Austin, Texas, based digital platform shepherding safety through connectivity. The platform’s smartphone app and Internet of Things (IoT) wearable button is dedicated to making communities safer. Created by two former Army Rangers with over 20 years of special operations, bodyguard and executive protection experience, the Rally For Safety wearable button attaches to a users phone or keys, while also digitally connecting the Rally for Safety app providing real-time, location-based safety updates and tips.

The Rally for Safety app is available for download on both iOS and Android, and the connected safety buttons are available for purchase on Amazon and the Rally for Safety website.

The Rally Community — inspired by a January 2015 story of two heroic Stanford University students who intervened on a rape outside of a fraternity house — alerts other nearby Rally users to come help and rescue another user in distress, despite potentially not knowing them.

By creating a community of citizen responders, Rally encourages a digital neighborhood watch and makes life-saving help available immediately. The Rally IoT platform will partner with university greek life and other student organizations, retirement homes, and college, high school, and business campuses, all with the mission to reduce safety risks in real time.

“We created this platform with our moms and sisters in mind. Empowering their safety through connectivity led us to create Rally, to help our users feel comfortable leaning on each other to limit risks and ward off dangerous behavior,” said Mike Murphy, co-founder of Rally for Safety. “The button and app, when paired together, allow for an enhanced security option that aims to reduce attacks, rapes, active shooters, and other predatory events.”

Rally for Safety was founded by Mike Murphy and Chris Espe, both former U.S. Army Rangers now with more than 20 years of executive protection, bodyguard and special operations experience. Mike Murphy is a celebrity bodyguard keeping some of the most famous and influential people safe but his consistent concern for the women in his family and if they were safe was the true driving force behind Rally.

“The need to be connected to each other in the face of danger has never been more necessary,” said Chris Espe, co-founder of Rally for Safety. “Safety is at the core of our personal and corporate mission, helping the individual user alert their contacts and the authorities, should they sense danger.”
