Lantronix Inc., provider of secure data access and management solutions for the industrial Internet of Things (IoT), announced on Monday sampling of XPort Edge embedded ethernet gateway. XPort Edge, the latest innovation from Lantronix, will bring a new level of performance, enhanced security, pre-integrated device management capability and cloud connectivity to this platform, making it a wired IoT gateway in an easy to deploy RJ45 connector form factor.
The XPort Edge embedded Ethernet gateway’s patented design delivers a highly differentiated set of capabilities for quickly adding secure Ethernet connectivity to any device with a serial interface, including enterprise-grade TruPort Security of both data-at-rest and data-in-motion which includes secure key storage, encrypted configuration, secure connections with SSL/TLS, HTTPS, and role-based access control; and secure boot and secure remote firmware update.
It also delivers cloud connectivity by pre-integrating with Lantronix MACH10 IoT platform, including support for Lantronix Gateway Central and MACH10 Global Device Manager, and comes MQTT and Websockets support enabled. It also includes patented XPort in an RJ45 connector form factor with integrated PHY and magnetics.
“We are pleased with the strong customer interest we have received since previewing the XPort Edge at the Embedded World Conference at the end of February,” said Shahram Mehraban, Lantronix vice president of marketing. “We are very excited to be sampling this new embedded Ethernet gateway in record time from our preview to help our early access customers get a head-start on their design activities.”
Lantronix released in January IT Management solutions, including the modular SLC 8000 advanced console manager and SLB remote branch office manager, are designed to reduce deployment and management complexity and costs. The solutions provide secure out-of-band management to enable IT personnel of any size enterprise to remotely monitor, manage and troubleshoot equipment from anywhere, while maintaining low-level access to their gear even during network outages via secondary dial-up or cellular connections.
The Lantronix SLC 8000 provides seamless monitoring of network performance data allowing IT and data center managers to troubleshoot network slow-downs using IP SLA protocol; auto-detection of attached device port names eliminating manual configuration and the resulting configuration errors; delivers expanded support for SHA-2 across multiple protocols and TACACS+ support for groups. It also includes enhanced cellular fail-over and fail-back support.
