Gourmia improves smart kitchen IoT line up with Wi-Fi-enabled air fryer, sous vide pod

Gourmia, a designer and manufacturer of countertop kitchen appliances, launched Friday offerings for people who want to use Wi-Fi technology to cook meals.

Its new Turbo Cook Center & Air Fryer and Sous Vide Precision Cooker Immersion Pod, one of the hottest new products this season, are both IoT Wi-Fi enabled. The free companion apps take a chef through cooking step-by-step, and then allow them to manage the cooking function, temperature, duration, and end time on either product from anywhere there is an Internet connection, no matter how far they are from home.

Both of these Wi-Fi-enabled Gourmia cooking tools are currently available at amazon.com for a holiday special introduction price, where some orders may qualify for free shipping. The Turbo Cook Center and Air Fryer (GTA2800) is available for $149.99; the Sous Vide Precision Cooker Immersion Pod (GSV150) is available for $119.99.

Headquartered in Brooklyn, New York, Gourmia is passionate about cooking and the tools for the healthy lifestyle. With decades of small appliance expertise, Gourmia’s founders know that cooks are looking for dependable, easy-to-use tools that will make their lives easier. From sous vide immersion cookers to multi-purpose cookers and juicers, the team at Gourmia has taken input from chefs and consumers to make their products the best in their category. All of the company’s products are designed to deliver a higher standard of innovation, performance, and value.

Gourmia’s Wi-Fi-enabled Sous Vide Precision Cooker Immersion Pod was designed with quality and convenience in mind. With its companion iOS and Android Apps, any chef can bring the art of sous vide cooking, a low-temperature water bath slowly cooks food, to their kitchen.

The companion apps for iOS and Android smartphones enable chefs to select a recipe, be notified when the water is at the proper temperature, and control the GSV150, and be notified when the food is done anywhere there is an internet connection, thus leading to mouth-watering cuts of meat, crisp and nutrient-rich vegetables, and delicious warmed fruit.

Gourmia has partnered with author, Jason Logsdon, to include his original sous vide recipes in the companion mobile apps for iOS and Android. Jason Logsdon is a passionate home cook who loves to try new things, exploring everything from sous vide and whipping siphons to blow torches, foams, spheres and infusions. He has published nine cookbooks in paperback and electronic formats. His books include “Modernist Cooking Made Easy: Sous Vide”, a best seller that hit the number one spot on Amazon for both slow cooking and gourmet cooking. He also runs amazingfoodmadeeasy.com, one of the largest modernist cooking websites.

The GSV150’s water circulator ensures that water is moving around the food-filled bags constantly, ensuring uniform cooking. The pod clips to virtually any cookware to keep it in the upright and vertical position.

The Gourmia Wi-Fi-enabled Turbo Cook Center and Air Fryer features calorie-reduction technology to make meals with optimal taste and crispiness, while eliminating the need to add fats and oil during the cooking process. It makes use of two different scientific heating methods: convection and radiant.

The design uses Halogen heating while continuously circulating hot air to cook food, instead of relying on oil, leading to crisp exteriors and moist tender interiors, with a reduced cooking time of up to 60 percent. Utilizing its companion apps for iOS and Android, chefs are able to control the Air Fryer from anywhere there is an internet connection. iOS app for the GTA2800 is coming to the App Store in January.

This handy 1300W ETL-listed appliance offers 20 distinct cooking modes: air fry, air sauté, stir fry, steam, roast, grill, broil, bake, rotisserie, and kebabs. It also includes specialized modes for pizza, French fries, and defrosting. The unit also comes with 11 versatile attachments, allowing for unlimited cooking possibilities, and a cookbook.

“Wi-Fi is not just for checking social media or getting on the Internet, it’s also a time saver for cooks,” remarked Sam Ash, Gourmia chief marketing officer. “Making healthy, delicious meals at home just became easier for today’s busy chef with the new app enabled Air Fryer and Sous Vide Pod from Gourmia.  Users are not only walked through recipes from renowned chefs, they can also control cooking functions so if they are working late, stuck in traffic, running errands or doing something with the kids, they can make sure the perfect meal is ready when they walk in the door. Best of all, the app notifies users when each meal is ready, and allows them to keep track of progress along the way.”
