Cloudian joins with ABEJA to deliver scale-out object storage options for managing, storing volumes of deep learning data

Cloudian announced on Wednesday a technical partnership with ABEJA, Inc., a producer of platform as a service (PaaS) technology that utilizes deep learning technology to support business change as a partner of ABEJA Platform Partner Ecosystem.

Cloudian enables customers to store large quantities of data generated by the ABEJA artificial intelligence (AI) platform economically, efficiently and reliably on-premises in a limitlessly scalable storage environment. The solution, enabled by Cloudian’s HyperStore, may be used in hybrid cloud deployments to isolate sensitive data and confidential information, such as manufacturing data and research and development materials within on-premises storage.

The ABEJA platform is a PaaS technology that acquires, accumulates, learns, analyzes, outputs and feeds back various data.

ABEJA utilizes deep learning, which automatically discovers the important attributes contained within accumulated big data without the need for human intervention in order to promote business efficiency and automation in industry and retail.

Since its founding in 2012, ABEJA has collaborated with university faculty members who specialize in AI and are doing research on deep learning technology. ABEJA developed all the deep learning technology used in its services. One of company’s products is at work in retail and distribution as SaaS (Software as a Service), with over 420 stores, including Mitsukoshi Isetan Holdings and PARCO Co., and the company is also entering the manufacturing industry.

ABEJA’s deep learning technology depends on data to “learn” the correct ways to discover answers to business and research questions. This process starts with the acquisition of mass data from a variety of sources, including IoT devices, sensors and existing systems.

After this data is accumulated and validated, it is used to create the neural networks of the deep learning system using ABEJA’s 10-step process. This process – and the ongoing operation of the AI system – depend on very large volumes of easily-accessible unstructured data, something that plays to the strengths of the Cloudian limitlessly scalable object storage platform.

“Machine learning applications require storage that’s both bigger and smarter, combining capacity, rich metadata tagging, and search tools in one platform,” said Jon Toor, CMO at Cloudian. “Our partnership with ABEJA will help us bring these Cloudian benefits to even more users as we further demonstrate the power and efficiency of our combined solution.”
