CES 2017: Dusun Electron launches smart gateway supporting ZigBee 3.0, 3G/4G network for IoT

Dusun Electron announced Wednesday at the 2017 Consumer Electronics Show held in Las Vegas to demonstrate its new Smart Gateway 2.0 product supporting ZigBee 3.0 and 3G/4G network for Internet of things (IoT).

ZigBee 3.0 is a single unified protocol smart home solution with interoperability among smart home devices. With 3G/4G network and built-in lithium battery support, this Smart Gateway 2.0 can keep data safe and secure without interruption due to disconnected power and local network.

In this Smart Gateway 2.0 introduction, Dusun is collaborating with its technology partner Qorvo (formerly Greenpeak Technologies) and is uniquely positioned with a ZigBee 3.0 certification product for its new Smart Gateway 2.0 platform. Qorvo is a market leader in the ZigBee market segment offering wireless semiconductor solutions and is enabling OEM partner relationships to lead and develop innovative and advanced Smart Home solutions, as recognized in Dusun’s CES 2017 Smart Gateway product introduction.

“The availability of a new interrupt-free gateway is great news for the Smart Home industry and for IoT developers,” said Cees Links, General Manager of Qorvo’s Wireless Connectivity business unit. “By working in a highly competitive market, with an experienced partner like Dusun Electron, we can accelerate the growth of our combined solutions.”

“Smart Gateway solutions are emerging as the centerpiece of the growth of the I sector that provide centralized control and the connection of device ecosystem to the Cloud, in addition to tracking data usage on mobile devices anytime and anywhere,” said Benny Chan, chief executive officer of Dusun. “Dusun is pleased to engage with Qorvo to realize the development of ZigBee 3.0 in this Smart Gateway solution, and I am excited to be leading the IoT industry in adding Smart functionality and superior performance to its IoT offering.”

With the rise of IoT, many industries have created and incorporated Internet –enabled devices to deliver value-added services that clearly deliver product and feature differentiators.

According to the IDC, the IoT market will grow to $1.7 trillion by 2020, and 2016 Broadband World Forum recently reported consumers will be spending nearly $130 billion annually on smart home offerings. As this market will continue to witness rapid growth and deployment of IOT devices, Dusun expects market demand for IoT and Smart Home solutions, while reducing the time-to-market with its Smart Gateway 2.0 solution.

With Dusun’s Smart Gateway product, our product showcase at the Consumer Electronic Show will consist of a range of smart device advancements including PIR (motion), window, door, vibrator, thermostat, leakage, smoke detector, gas alarm, and CO alarm sensors as well as lock, IR blaster, lighting, and meter, and further highlighting the growth of smart home and IoT momentum that is taking shape and Dusun’s capabilities.

In November, Dusun announced its new direction and focus on the American smart TV and Internet of Things (IoT) segments with the appointments of two industry veterans.

Chuan Chang (aka CC) Hung has joined Dusun Electron as Vice President of Sales & Marketing of Dusun USA, and Jeffrey N. Kessler has been installed as Director of Business Development. Collectively they will be driving Dusun’s growth and expansion into the Americas based on their deep experience and working background with multinational and start-up technology leaders.

Recent market research reports issued by Strategy Analytics, by 2020 consumers will be spending nearly $30 billion annually on smart home offerings. The United States represents the largest single-country opportunity reaching $21 billion, and Western Europe will hit nearly $10 billion by this time. Dusun is investing, developing and executing on products and solutions in capturing this smart home opportunity.
