Atmosphere IoT and Radio Bridge announced Tuesday a partnership that integrates Radio Bridge sensors with Atmosphere’s cloud-based IoT platform for rapid deployment and management of several sensor technologies across multiple low-power wide area networks.
An integrated solution was recently deployed for a customer that manages disaster response in the energy industry. The solution was built on the Atmosphere Platform to connect and manage hundreds of Radio Bridge wireless sensors using a combination of Sigfox and LoRaWAN technologies.
Atmosphere offers IoT solution builders an effective mechanism to build, connect, and manage complete sensor-to-cloud solutions. First released in January 2015, its low-code software development platform has been used by thousands of IoT developers to create smart, wireless-enabled products and solutions. Atmosphere IoT was founded in late 2017 from Anaren Inc.’s Internet of Things Group.

Radio Bridge designs and manufactures long-range wireless sensors for the Internet of Things (IoT) industry using emerging wireless standards such as LoRaWAN and Sigfox. The entire portfolio of sensors products are designed for very long range, low cost, and extended battery life. The sensors are targeted toward the home security, smart city, medical device, and industrial automation industries.
Radio Bridge offers an optional web-based console for provisioning, monitoring, and configuration of the sensors in the field. Custom design is also available with the goal of achieving seamless sensor-to-cloud solutions for a variety of applications.
“As we continue to add support for devices on our platform, we’re focused on providing enterprises with quick and easy deployment options to support the variety of use cases that we’re encountering,” said Jeff Liebl, CEO of Atmosphere IoT. “The pre-integration of Radio Bridge sensors with the Atmosphere IoT Platform provides our customers a great new option for satisfying their multi-sensing, long distance and low power requirements.”
“We are excited about our new partnership with Atmosphere IoT because of their modern, innovative and fast-paced approach to the IoT marketplace,” said Radio Bridge CEO Steve Kilts. “Together we can deliver customers complete solutions very quickly. As we expand our wireless sensor product portfolio, we look forward to more successful customer deployments with Atmosphere.”
In November last year, Digi-Key Electronics entered into a multi-year commercial agreement with Atmosphere IoT to deliver the DK IoT Studio, available immediately to Digi-Key’s 700,000 – strong global customer base.

A new cloud-based services offering, the DK IoT Studio complements Digi-Key’s offering of processors, wireless modules, gateways, sensors and cellular data plans, furthering the company’s initiative of being a one-stop-shop for IoT resources, products, and solutions.
DK IoT Studio is a custom, branded version of the Atmosphere IoT Platform, a low-code software platform for rapid application development and deployment of sensor-to-cloud IoT solutions.
The DK IoT Studio, which masks the complexity behind numerous vendors’ SDKs, APIs and drivers, is integrated into Digi-Key’s familiar shopping cart e-commerce system and chat-based customer support tools. Using an intuitive, drag-and-drop user interface, IoT developers can quickly generate device firmware, a mobile app and web application in minutes, with little or no manual coding required.
